This article is a step-by-step guide for the Slack integration. For information on Microsoft Teams integration please visit our Microsoft Teams categories: https://vacationtracker.crisp.help/en/

To request a half-day leave you would follow the same steps as you would for requesting a full day or multi-day leave. You can request a leave through Slack by using the Vacation Tracker bot or by logging into our online dashboard (dashboard.vacationtracker.io) and requesting a leave through our home page.

To request a leave through our Vacation Tracker bot, please follow these steps:

Activate our bot by typing /vacation in any channel or conversation and press enter
Once the bot responds select the "Request Leave" option
Select the leave type by using our drop down menu (in this case, select the half-leave option of the leave you are looking to apply for)
Fill all of the necessary information such as the dates
When you are ready, click "Submit" or "Submit with Reason" (if you choose "Submit with Reason" you will have an additional option to enter a message in a message box that will be sent to your Approver along with the request).

To request a leave through our online dashboard (dashboard.vacationtracker.io), please follow these steps:

Go to the Vacation Tracker dashboard (dashboard.vacationtracker.io) and login using your Slack credentials
As a Team Member on the left-hand side you should click on the "Request Leave" button. As an Approver or Administrator you will see the "Add Leave" button instead, click on the "Add Leave" button and a new page will show where you can select the "Request Leave" tab.
Once on the page, you can now select the leave type by using our drop down menu (in this case you want to select the half-leave option of the leave you are looking to apply for)
Fill all of the necessary information such as the dates
Once you are ready click "Create"

If the leave requires approval, your request will be sent to your Approver for further action.

Our team is currently working on Vacation Tracker 2.0 which will offer features such as Accrual systems and smaller time intervals for leave. We are hoping to introduce these options in 2020.
