This article is a step-by-step guide for the Slack integration. For information on Microsoft Teams integration please visit our Microsoft Teams categories: https://vacationtracker.crisp.help/en/

There are two types of calendar sync you can do with Vacation Tracker. The first type is the global calendar sync, where you can sync your favorite calendar with the entire organization’s calendar feed. The other type is the team’s calendar sync, where you can sync your calendar only with your team’s calendar feed in case you have multiple teams.

Vacation Tracker supports iCal format for importing leave information to Google Calendar, Outlook and iCal. To find our calendar URL for everyone within Vacation tracker, please follow these steps:

Go to the Vacation Tracker Dashboard (dashboard.vacationtracker.io)
On the left-hand side click on Calendar
Scroll down to the bottom and you will see the Calendar Feed
Double-click on the link and copy it

To import the events for a specific team, please follow these steps:

Go to the Vacation Tracker Dashboard (dashboard.vacationtracker.io)
On the left-hand side click on Teams
Select a team from the list by clicking on the name of the team
On the new page you will see the Calendar Feed link; double-click on the link and copy it

1. Google Calendar Synchronization
To add the calendar feed to your Google Calendar, open it and click on the “Other Calendars” dropdown in the left side bar. Choose “Add by URL”, and then enter the iCal URL. Finally, click on “Add Calendar” and wait for Google to import your events.

2. Outlook Synchronization
To synchronize with Outlook, simply sign in to your account, and at the bottom of the navigation pane, select Calendar. Select Add Calendar > From Internet, and simply paste the calendar URL.
**Please note that the calendar synchronization is not yet available in Outlook 2016 for Mac.

3. iCal Synchronization
If you’d like to add the calendar feed to iCal, open your calendar, click on the “File” dropdown in the left sidebar. Choose “New Calendar Subscription”, and then enter the iCal URL. Finally, click on “Subscribe” and wait for iCal to import your events.

The calendar sync with both Google and Microsoft takes up to 24 hours. That means new information will take up to 24 hours to show in the Google calendar or Outlook calendar. Unfortunately, this sync time isn't related to us. It is related to the way both Google and Microsoft process information so we can't do much about it! But the information should show shortly. If it does not, feel free to contact our Support team via live chat or email at hello@vacationtracker.io!

Our team is currently working on a bigger calendar integration that will create an out of office event in Google Calendar and Outlook once a leave is created and approved.
