How Do I Limit Users' Visibility?

We at Vacation Tracker understand that managing visibility for the employees is important for many of our clients. Because of that, we’re introducing a new add-on to our system called Visibility Manager. With this tool, Admins in Vacation Tracker will be able to limit visibility to their Users so they can only view scheduled leaves from other team members in their department. This add-on can be used in both Core and Complete plan.

How does the Visibility Manager work?

Let’s use these two departments as an example:

Bart Simpson is a User in the Human Resources department, and his Approver is John Wick.

In the Department of Compliance, Iron Man is a User, while John Wick is his Approver.

By activating the Visibility Manager, Users will only be able to see leaves in their own department, meaning Bart Simpson can see leaves in the Human Resources department, while Iron Man can see leaves in the Compliance department. However, since John Wick is an Approver for the Compliance and Human Resources department, he’s able to view leaves for both departments. If you need help configuring your departments, please see: How Do I Edit Department Information?

Now that we understand how the feature works, let’s set it up:

Go to the Vacation Tracker Dashboard - https://app.vacationtracker.io/app/dashboard

On the left-hand side click on Add-ons

In case you haven’t subscribed to the Visibility Manager add-on yet, go to Discover More Add-ons and select Review and buy for the Visibility Manager and confirm your purchase.

If you have already subscribed/once subscribed, go to the My Add-ons tab, and click on View

Click on Yes to Limit visibility for users

A new line will appear, choose what Users can see and select Their department

Click on Save

Please note that at this time, only Vacation Tracker Admins can set up/edit the Visibility Manager.
