How Do I Respond to a Leave Request?

One of your department members decided to request a day off. Let’s make their day by approving that request!

There are two ways you can approve a leave:

Using our - Online Dashboard
Using Vacation Tracker Integration - Slack
Using Vacation Tracker Integration - Microsoft Teams

Dashboard

Go to the Vacation Tracker dashboard - https://app.vacationtracker.io/signin

Once logged in you will see all the requested leaves on your Pending Requests tab. From there, you can proceed by Approving or Denying the request.

Slack

Once a user requests a leave, you will automatically receive a notification from our Vacation Tracker bot which will allow you to approve or deny the leave request within Slack.

The system will also indicate whether or not any one else from that user's department is on leave at the same time. The See in Calendar button will bring Approvers to the online dashboard calendar view to see the upcoming leaves and holidays taking place around the time of the leave request.

Once you approve or deny the leave request, the User will receive a response about the status of their request

Microsoft Teams

Once a team member requests a leave, you will automatically receive a notification from our Vacation Tracker bot which will allow you to approve or deny the leave request.

The Open Calendar button lets Approvers view the leaves and holidays that are scheduled on or around the time of the user's leave request.

Once you approve or deny the leave request, the User will receive a response about their leave request

In MS Teams, there is also an option for you to review and approve/deny leave requests by going to your Microsoft Teams application and clicking on Teams on the left-hand side. You can then enter the channel which has Vacation Tracker and at the top of the channel, you can click on the Vacation Tracker tab. Once on the tab, as an Approver you should see leave requests from your users.
